This Wednesday will be the first of two Nunchuck November Training Sessions, this one in Hampton Bays from 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM. The second Nunchuck November Training Session will take place in our Patchogue location on Monday, November 24th from 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM. 

Our Holiday Closings have been updated both on Facebook and under "Events Calendar" on our website! We will be closed from Tuesday, November 25th through Thursday, November 27th for Thanksgiving. We will be closed Wednseday, December 24th and Thursday, December 25th for Christmas. We will be closed Wednseday, December 31st and Thursday, January 1st for New Years. Happy Holidays!

THIS WEEK at Mazzarella Martial Arts!

The big news this week is the upcoming Testing and Graduation in our HAMPTON BAYS location. On Wednesday, November 5th, we'll be holding an open practice session at 6:00 PM for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, after which all students who have earned three stripes on their belts will be invited to test and graduate to the next belt rank.

Testing and Graduation for our PATCHOGUE location takes place next Monday, November 10th.

NUNCHUCK NOVEMBER is here! We're very excited to be able to offer training in this classic karate weapon. These high-quality practice nunchucks are the new official nunchucks of Mazzarella Martial Arts and are available in neon blue and orange.

THIS WEEK at Mazzarella Martial Arts!

We're so excited for our Wear-Your-Costume to Class Days coming up this week! On Wednesday, October 29th, we'll have some Halloween fun in our HAMPTON BAYS location, and on Thursday, October 30th, we get to do it all over again (for double the fun) at our PATCHOGUE location. Don't forget to bring a friend to share in the fun!

Trick-or-treating can be a day (and night) of fun and adventure for kids of all ages. Because we need to make sure that we stay safe on Halloween, here are a few Halloween Safety Tips to keep in mind on your trick-or-treat candy quest!

1 - Make sure you can see properly and breathe OK through any mask you wear!

2 - Make sure all children are ALWAYS accompanied by and adult!

3 - Make sure everyone is easily visible after dark. Add reflective tape or lights to dark costumes, especially when trick-or-treating after dark. Take a flashlight!

4 - Make sure to stay in familiar neighborhoods and only trick-or-treat at well-lit homes.

5 - Make sure to walk only on sidewalks, where possible, and take care when crossing streets.

6 - Make sure to BE AWARE of your surroundings, and use common sense! Many dangerous situations can be avoided just by being careful to watch out for potential hazards and by not pushing your luck. Have a safe and fun Halloween!

We are NOT on the couch ... !

THIS WEEK at Mazzarella Martial Arts!

The past couple of weeks we've been focused on balance and stances. This week we will pull together those things and work on our kicking technique. 

Both the starting stance and ending stance effect our kicks just as much as our balance. We need to be able to start and end our movements in the proper position to be able to flow from the last move through to the next.

Be ready to work those legs!

We have a few events coming in the next few weeks at BOTH Patchogue and Hampton Bays locations!

In HAMPTON BAYS, on Wednesday, October 29th, is Wear-Your-Costume to Class Day! Wear your Halloween costum and bring a friend to your Karate class! In PATCHOGUE, Wear-Your-Costume to Class Day will be the next day, Thursday, October 30th.

Belt Rank Testing and Graduation dates have been set! Belt Rank Testing and Graduation is the chance for those students who have earned three stripes on their belts to advance to the next color belt rank.

In HAMPTON BAYS, Testing and Graduation will be Wednesday, November 5th.

In PATCHOGUE, Testing and Graduation will be Monday, November 10th.
